“The highest point in Georgia”

Rising 4,784 feet above sea level, Brasstown Bald is Georgia's highest mountain. As such, this is the first place to see fall color. On clear days, the spectacular 360-degree view from atop the mountain allows you to see four states, including Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina. The surrounding area is home to a wide variety of plants and animals. The Visitor Information Center, located on the summit of the Bald, offers exhibits, video presentations and interpretive programs.

Correction from earlier review: the nearby Blairsville restaurant we loved is called Cook's Country Kitchen.

Great spot to visit, everyone was friendly, the price was great. Beautiful views. We took the bus up and hiked down, it's very steep and I'm glad we did that part going down.

We randomly picked this destination on a spontaneous road trip focused on nature. We loved it! The drive to it from Chattanooga is a back-roads treat in itself, winding through part of the Cherokee National Forest. Stop by the charming nearby town of Blairsville for genuine southern hospitality and great diners, especially Country Cooking. The views from the bald were spectacular!

Looking for an easy hike to gorgeous summit views displaying breathtaking fall color? Then put on your hiking boots and head out to Brasstown Bald in beautiful Blairsville, Georgia.

We promise — you won’t be disappointed!

The colors peak at Brasstown Bald well before other parts of North Georgia due to its extraordinary height. At 4,784 feet above sea level, this is the highest point in Georgia, and it basically has its own micro-climate — similar to Massachusetts.

Located near Blairsville, Young Harris, and Hiawassee — partly in both Towns and Union counties — it’s the perfect place to stop for great views.

Going here was a good drive and the hike going at the observation deck was fantastic. The view at the observation deck is amazing. You can see the beautiful view of Georgia and the mountain hills. There's the fresh air, relaxing ambiance, clean surroundings, and very beautiful panoramic view of Georgia. There's also a museum which includes a short movie film and it was very entertaining. If you are looking for a place to relax and unwind this place is the perfect spot.
