Only a couple minutes off the highway and in an otherwise withering Main Street section of town, it's a gem of americana that's worth the stop.

As we snapped a few photos a gentleman stopped and was chatting. He reminisced to back in 1967 (as a young child), when he stopped in to use the bathroom. The manager told him no on account of the fact that he is black, but another employee told the manager "Oh yes he can and I'm gonna stand right here until he's through!"

I love how doing the right thing, even something seemingly small made a permanent impression in his life. :)

Visited on Saturday, October 17 as a quick detour/stop on a drive to St. Louis from Little Rock. It was closed. We were able to peek inside through the windows and get some pictures. Not much to see though and not worth the time.

We were here for an antique bus rally. I highly recommend a stop for a photo. They are really working hard to bring back their main st to a once thriving community. The locals are incredibly welcoming and enjoy telling their stories. This place had a population of 26,000 back before the airforce base nearby closed, which devastated the area. Now at just 1,400 population, steel is keeping it moving. They have plans to put a museum on the old base. Just under an hour from memphis, I consider it a must see. A true picture of the heart of rural America and a historical gem.

This Historic Greyhound Bus Depot houses the Blytheville, AR Main Street program now. It's very well kept up and was a great setting for pictures. Everything looks about like it did during the 50s and they have a collection of uniforms and artifacts on display. It was really just a leg stretching stop for us, but a very photogenic little place.
