“Come witness the mystery and wonder”
See Texas Downunder! Come witness the mystery and wonder of Cascade Caverns. The beauty of this "up close and personal" living cavern makes it one of Texas’ finest and a fun and educational experience for adults, teens, and kids. Cascade Caverns is an "up-close and personal" kind of cave with guided tours of small groups to experience the mystery and wonder of the cave. Situated within a 105 acre private park that includes tent camping and full RV sites as well as nature trails among mature cedar and live oak forests, the Caverns were the setting for the Civil War era novel The Hermit of the Cavern and the Patrick Swayze film Father Hood. The beauty of this living cavern makes it one of Texas’ finest caverns. It is host to the albino Cascade Caverns Salamander (Eurycea latitans), unique solution domes, "chubby" stalactites, Eastern Pipistrelle bats, cliff and leopard frogs, as well as an underground waterfall and lake. So don’t forget your camera. Cascade Caverns is a vacation experience you and your family will remember for years.

Perhaps not the most appropriate activity for toddlers/very young school kids as there's no touching of the walls or any formations in the taverns AND its a 70min tour w no food allowed. Bottled water allowed in taverns.
Pretty cool place! Most active cave system we’ve seen.
Good wifi, quiet, plenty of activities, hill country landscape, electric, showers. $40. A bit more for full hookups. Sites weren't perfectly flat, but only needed a couple leveling blocks. Some sites are close to each other, most have plenty of room with lots of trees. Takes a while to wind through back roads to get there, but I'll take that to avoid highway noise.

Visiting family in the area and so happy we stayed at this campground. All sites are first come, first served. Just find a spot when you arrive, then go pay them. They say they are never full and I never saw it full, but some sites might be a little shorter, not level, or have trees growing into them. There seem to be several long-timer camps too with older RVs. Very quiet at night, but you do hear cars far away. It is $50 for full hookup, but we got a $5 Good Sam discount. Definitely get a tour of the cave as well (daily in the afternoons, around $20). Good cell service for streaming. And stores are less than 15 minutes away.

I am so disappointed to have to give this location a negative review. The majority of the camp was wonderful, however the maintenance of their trees has a lot to be desired.
I pulled in after dark no problem. Went straight to the office for after hours registration and went to find a spot. The instructions said the A spots were full hookup and I wanted a pull through for easy departure. The first spot was too muddy so I went to one a couple spots down that had some trees. Being it was a pull through, you would think they’d keep the trees maintained to be able to support that. It was dark and unfortunately because the tree had a low limb, it hit the top of my rig and pulled the fan vent cap off and bumped the ladder rail enough that it needs to be reset and caulked.
Really disappointed.

It does seem as tho' the pull thru sites, with full pickups, that you find to your left at the back of the camping area are relatively new. The office is not well signed but can be found to the left at the back of the camping area as well. Sites are somewhat roughly graded but, if you play the rises and dips, you can get a pretty level spot while staying hitched. One employee stated he's worked here 9 years and seen the area full only once, probably because the camping area is quite large. Only negatives are that the new'ish pull thru sites are a few feet away from a road used by some cavern tour customers, and the Verizon signal is weak. We did get 3 bars of 4G after powering up the booster. After the horrendous and noisy experience towing on I-10, this serene place was a great respite.
