“Continue to Dream”

If you or someone in your family is a big space nerd, then have I got a museum for you! Bonne Terre’s Space Museum is a retro awesome homage to humanities obsession with the great beyond and the amazing things we’ve done to get there.    Founded by space enthusiast Earl Mullins, the Space Museum is easily one of the coolest personal collections of space related artifacts around, and has a little something for pretty much anyone. The building is packed from floor to ceiling with space artifacts that range anywhere from Scott Carpenter’s flight manual, actual lunar dust, space food, and even a flag from the first shuttle mission.  The museum, which opened its doors on June 24, 2006, is the largest collection of privately owned space collectables in the entire state, which Earl Mullins owes to his lifelong obsession with space exploration.  Earl’s obsession (and collection) even branches into the world of sci-fi with toys, props, vintage magazines, and costumes from some of televisions most beloved sci-fi series… Like I said, there’s something for everyone.  If you’re a space nut on a road trip through Missouri, you can’t miss the chance to peep a flag that’s gone to the moon and back again, including some of the states rarest collectables. Make sure to add a stop at the Space Museum to your itinerary, and spend an afternoon in space nerd heaven.  -Roadtrippers Through the use of world-class artifacts, the Space Museum outlines the exciting history of humankind's greatest adventure. The presentation and format of the exhibit is unique. A complimentary audio tour describes in detail what the visitor is seeing, and interactive displays provide a feel for what space exploration is like. The museum functions entirely by volunteer support and donations. Admission is free; donations are appreciated. The museum caters to schools and other groups. For further information and assistance in scheduling a group, please call 573-358-1200 during hours of operation or 573-701-5639 at other times.
