Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on September 24, 2023For our 4th trip in our new T@G teardrop, this was the best experience yet! I just wish I had planned our Memorial Day Weekend better and stayed several days here. Staff was great! Helpful and friendly.
We called 1 1/2 hour in advance and got the best site in the campground for our T@G. (It doesn’t have a bathroom.) Our site was very close to the facilities and the office.
The site was fairly level. It has a concrete pad and nice landscaping on the other side.
The weather...wow!.. was perfect. When we left home, it was 96 degrees. It was in the 70’s at the campground and it got down to 60 during the night.
Close to several scenic areas and hiking trails: Blue Ridge Parkway, Linville Falls, and only minutes away from Boone.
Only negative, everyone didn’t observe quite time after 10:00 PM. It wasn’t bad, but notable.
We will go back, soon!

Spent the weekend here on our way North. It was a great site, some of the sites are a little un-level, but considering it is on a mountain, it is to be expected. The weather was beautiful and the staff very helpful

Cute little campground high in Blue Ridge mountains at 4,000 feet of elevation. Sites are fairly close together and staggered into the hillside with small retaining walls for each site location. WiFi is ok if campsite not too busy. Location is great as it’s super close to Blue Ridge Parkway, Boone, Blowing Rock and all the nearby hiking, biking, and other mountain activities. Had full hookups and two bars on both VZN and ATT. Definitely will be back.

We came up here for a long weekend to beat the late summer heat in Chapel Hill. We ended up in a spot farther away from the main camping area. We were parked right next to a little farm area with goats (baby goats no less), two donkeys, and some ducks. This was cute and charming. Waking up to hear the baby goats scampering around their little field was fun and adorable. Be aware that this section of the campsite we camped in is adjacent to some trailer homes as well.
Our campsite is fairly large compared to the sites in the morE wooded area of the campground, which is nice. It’s also quieter over here. On the other hand, walking through that section seems like it could be a bit more social, mostly due to the proximity of the other campers. The main area is also more wooded.
Pros: close to Blue Ridge and Boone, baby goats, large site (for us)
Cons: had hoped for more Mountain View’s at campground, camp WiFi is adequate at times and at other times fails; not something to rely on, too close to mobile home area, camped near cabins and those folks don’t seem to respect that they should not walk through your campsite to get other places. Overall, the campground is not really well thought out for larger rigs... at least two class A folks needed to move before ever parking due to awkward sites they couldn’t get into.

Called day of arrival and made reservation over the phone. Helpful girl on phone. Was checked in within 2 minutes of arrival. Sites are close to each other but didn't bother us. Everything worked. They do have pool, putt putt, baby goats, and playground. Kids loved it especially all the other kids being here too. The CG does seem older and it's definitely not a fancy place. But everything was clean and worked. Great atmosphere here. Simple store with necessities. Location wise it's not central to Blowing Rock and Grandfather Mountain but is only a 45 minute ride. 15-20 minutes back to town.
Wifi is terrible. Barely works during the day. At night it didn't do anything. I got better service with my Verizon phone and 1 bar signal during day and 2 bars at night.

Had a nice stay here, but sites are too close together and too short. We had to pull our car up to the picnic table beside the RV. Lots of barking dogs. Hills are steep for older folks. Zero over-the-air TV reception and weak cell signal.
Pool, mini-golf, clean bathhouse. I was very disappointed that I didn't find the goats until the last night.
Good location for Appalachian State University activities and mountain exploring. Access via narrow, steep road.

The campsites are terraced down the mountainside and not very flat. The sewer hookup was uphill so emptying the tanks was annoying. The store and facilities were pretty good. The location is good if you are visiting Boone.

We spent 8 nights at this campground in Sep 2023. We recommend site J 6, for a nice, unobstructed view of distant mountains and a pretty pasture with cows. The campground is very well maintained and clean. We used the laundry facilities and showers and both were great. We brought our 2 dogs, and the campground is very dog-friendly. The sites are somewhat close, but I expect that in privately owned campgrounds. With all the fabulous places to explore, we didn’t spend much time at the RV. Neither WiFi nor cell signal are great, but we got by. The host said they are supporting be getting new internet cable laid up their road soon, so that should help. Lots of fun amenities here for families.
