“A very personal interpretation of Asian specialties”
A funky indie diner setting offering Joanne Chang and Christopher Myers's very personal interpretation of Chinese, Taiwanese, Thai, and Vietnamese specialties. Myers+Chang is all about fresh product, exotic herbs, redolent spices. Alison Hearn served as opening executive chef to develop a menu that reflects Joanne and Christopher's personal interpretation of Chinese, Thai, and Vietamese specialties. Today that philosophy is carried on by Chef Karen Akunowicz, who works closely with Joanne and Christopher to offer creative and craveable dishes served by people passionate about great service and dedicated to having fun.
I describe this as higher end versions of Asian street food. Excellent if you order right. For me, the best bits are tea-smoked ribs, nasi goreng, cold dan dan noodles, fresh rolls, fried chicken and waffles, coal black chicken wings, edamame and celery slaw, scallion pancakes, and thai pork lettuce wraps.
"Asian Fusion" may be a taboo term, but this South End hangout borrows big flavors from China, Korea, Vietnam and more for non-traditional mashups like Szechuan shrimp and grits and fish tacos with kimchi salsa, all presented as shareable small plates. For weekend brunch, a selection of said dishes is offered dim-sum style, checklist and all.
