“setting the standard for fine imported foods in Boston”
After years of setting the standard for fine imported foods in the Boston area, Ihsan and Valerie opened South End Formaggio in Boston’s historic South End in January of 1999. The space is smaller than our Cambridge store, but it has many of the same wonderful products packed into a cozy neighborhood shop. Together with our buyers at Formaggio Kitchen, we seek out the finest artisan products from Europe and North America. Our cheese and meat selection offers the fruits of these labors with many small production fermier and artisanal products from New England and further afield. Throughout our little store we pack in chocolates, olive oils, honeys, jams, and various other dry goods. We make the best of what space we have on our 'wine wall' to present an ecclectic selection of wines that we feel reflect the true nature of the grape, region and traditions that go into making the wine. Our artisanal beers are also seasonal and hand-selected. Finally, our kitchen makes fresh sandwiches, salads and dinner items daily from the best available local produce and naturally raised meats
