“Home of the Boston Red Sox”

Fenway Park is a baseball park near Kenmore Square in Boston, Massachusetts. Located at 4 Yawkey Way, it has served as the home ballpark of the Boston Red Sox baseball club since it opened in 1912 and is the oldest Major League Baseball stadium currently in use. It is one of two "classic" Major League ballparks still in use, the other being Chicago's Wrigley Field and it is considered to be one of the best-known sports venues in the United States. Because of the ballpark's age and constrained location in the dense Fenway–Kenmore neighborhood, the park has had many renovations and additions over the years not initially envisioned, resulting in unique, quirky features, including "The Triangle," "Pesky's Pole", and most notably the famous Green Monster in left field. The Red Sox have sold out every home game since May 15, 2003; in 2008, the park sold out its 456th consecutive Red Sox game, breaking a Major League Baseball record. Fans who attended this game received gifts to celebrate this accomplishment. As of July 17, 2012, the Red Sox have had 760 consecutive sellouts, which is the longest such streak in Major League Baseball history and in all U.S. sports. The sellout streak is aided by the Red Sox's fan base, the success of the Red Sox during this time (a winning record all nine seasons, during which time the team achieved at least 90 wins seven times, six playoff appearance and two World Series Championships), as well as the fact that, as of 2012, Fenway Park has the fourth lowest seating capacity and second lowest total capacity of any MLB stadium; it is one of the seven MLB ballparks that cannot accommodate at least 40,000 spectators.

Beware the Green Monster! Balls are traveling upwards of 80 MPH when coming towards those seats, so be sure to bring your gloves (and padding) if you're lucky enough to sit there.

I got to go to watch the Red Sox play in 2005. Being a Brit baseball wasn't something I was fussed about but a trip to Fenway park was one of the highlights of my summer there. The atmosphere alone is fantastic, so if you get a chance, go!

I was lucky enough to watch Liverpool FC play AS Roma at Fenway which was unusual seeing the field set up for soccer instead of baseball but it was really enjoyable. The stadium is beautiful and it's age makes it stand out from the newer parks in the country. Highly recommend checking out any kind of game here.

Fenway park is totally an attraction in itself. You don't have to be a Boston fan (though you should be) to appreciate the amount of awesome history and tradition packed into one space. Buy booze and merchandise on Yawkey Way, sit up on the Green Monster, or just get rowdy with the fans until everyone drains out in 7th inning. This is classic baseball at its finest. 2004 was the dream.

If you are a baseball fan, regardless of age, this is an experience. Tough not to enjoy the game and get caught up in the atmosphere. Even when there isn't a game going on, there are a lot of cool shops/bars/restaurants around the stadium

tickets can be expensive or hard to come by, and your seat may have a big ass pole in front of you, but in terms of history you will not find a more authentic ballpark experience in all the MLB!

One of my favorite ball parks of all time. Filled with tons of history, awesome fans, and usually a pretty damn good team. There really isn't an atmosphere quite like it. The tickets can be surprisingly cheap as well depending on the game!

Best tip for visiting Fenway: Beer vendors start shutting down during the seventh inning. But fear not, "Who's On First" on Yawkey Way will still serve you a nice cold brew well into extra innings. :) You're welcome.

I've not seen a game here, but toured in the winter season while visiting Boston. The guys that show you around are great; they ask everyone on the tour where they're from and make a comment about whether they feel bad for your home team for losing to the Red Sox, or if they're still bitter about a loss from the 1960s playoffs.
