“walk on top of the trees”
Located right here in Bretton Woods, NH, and descending over 1000 feet of elevation, the tour takes nature-lovers and thrill-seekers across a series of tree-top zip lines through a network of platforms high in the ancient hemlocks. High-flying suspension bridges and hiking trails connect the nine zip lines, and the tour concludes with the Williwaw Racing Zip, a dual, side-by-side zip line leading right into the Bretton Woods base area! This unique canopy tour features a dual-cable construction (you slide below two separate cables, instead of just one), coated cables (to make for a quiet, more natural flight through the trees) and platforms and bridges milled from locally-harvested wood sources, in keeping with our commitment to environmentally sustainable programs. Once on the tour, our Adventure Guides describe the native flora and fauna, in addition to discussing the surrounding area, its natural history and White Mountain lore. Each pair of guides may accommodate up to eight participants. All in all, a unique New Hampshire experience not to be missed!
This was a great experience! It was my first time zip-lining, and our guides were very good at teaching us the ropes (ha! Pun intended!), staying calm, and tossing out little tidbits about the wildlife and trees. There are nine separate zip lines you take, the longest being more than 800 feet and 160 feet above the forest floor. Awe-inspiring, particularly if you go when the trees are in full fall color. In addition, there are a couple of suspension rope bridges and places where you rappel from the treetops to a lower platform or the ground. Super fun!
