Confirmed by 6 users | Last reported on November 27, 2023The good:
- Huge, pull thru sites with cement patios, lots of trees for shade and privacy, Full hook-ups, and cable.
- Lots of walking/biking trails
- A lake with a small swimming beach
- A fishing pier and boat ramp
- Friendly and accommodating staff (we bought some campfire wood and they delivered it to our site!)
- New washers and dryers that only cost $1.25 each
The bad:
- Those leaf blowers! I realize that there's lots of leaves in this wooded campground, but must you run those noisy leaf blowers everyday? The most offensive was when we were trying to relax on Sunday afternoon and an employee spent 15 minutes leaf blowing the road in front of our site.
- Not a very exciting area. The town of Brunswick has seen better days, and nearby Jekyll Island didn't warrant more than a single day visit.
Overall the good outweighed the bad, and if we ever found ourselves in the area again we would definitely stay here again.

I'm not sure where all of the high scores are coming from on other review sites A lot of the sites have branches so close that you can't put out slides but not all, I hate the dirty sand that is all through the park, some gravel would help a bunch, if your a larger MH I would unhook your toad before driving through. Nice bathrooms and walking trails, wifi is strong and water and electric is good however.
There is a park down the road we would probably stay at next time if in the area.

We chose this park because Jekyll Island Park was completely booked and this was the next regional/city park that was available. Although we pulled in just after sunset, the park was easy to navigate and the site we're on is a super long (75'+) site. Keep in mind that you're not allowed to attach anything to the trees, so that meant our line we put out for the cat to be leashed to was flagged and we needed to take it down. Hammocks are also not allowed.
Jekyll island is just south of the park by about 15 minutes and the park entry is $6/day for cars and $10/day for RV's. Totally worth it - be sure to bring your bicycles, though long RV's may have an issue parking in some of the parking lots (lack of space).
The WIFI here is slow (1-3mbps) at our site and I did walk around tonight testing it. As fulltimers, we need access to the web and our Verizon Jetpack was only getting 1-2 bars. After walking the campground, I found that sites near site 13 had the best signal (13-15mbps) from the park's WIFI.
Although we haven't taken advantage of it, the park does have a marina and a couple large ponds/lakes to fish or enjoy watersports from.

This is our second time camping here, and we really like this campground. The sites are all level and well kept. The staff are all polite and friendly. The provided Wifi service was acceptable, at least at our campsite (not sure how it is on different sites).Cell phone signal was pretty weak here with Sprint, but we're used to that. I drove around and found that I could get a 4G signal if I drove over near peer.
The price ($40/day) was a little steep for a county-run park, but I guess this is probably average for a campground near the coast.
Overall, we have no complaints and we definitely plan to stay here again.

This park has a swimming lake, fishing, paths, private shaded lots as well as Wifi, cable. What more could you ask for? Maybe, if you are working in your unit you need more verizon wireless bars. Even with a weboost, one bar was all we could muster. I used the camp wifi to work and tried not to have to talk to people. The park, however was absolutely stunning. Quiet and peaceful...very little light pollution at night. We loved it!

I found this campground through Allstays and was impressed with the reviews. We arrived on Sunday (my birthday) and left on Wednesday. The site was level packed sand with trees on both sides giving us privacy. The sites have full hook-ups with a concrete patio, picnic table and fire ring. The Wifi is decent but since the campground was 2/3 full it was being used quite alot so it was slow during the day. There is a swimming beach on the small lake but we did not use it. We did however use some of the trails in the park which our dogs liked. The small town of Brunswick is not far and has decent shopping for groceries. You can also go out to Jekyll Island State Park and walk on Driftwood Beach.

We easily reached this park and unhitched our toad from our 33' unit so had no problem getting to our site-79-which was at the far side of the camp, following the instructions given when we checked in. (The signage did not show our site number direction until the last loop). Each site has a nice sized concrete patio and FHU. The site was otherwise packed sand, somewhat private, and mostly level. It was very quiet although I was able to hear highway traffic noise at night though it was more like white noise and not at all irritating. One of the "bads" was that there was a faint smell from the nearby paper mills in Brunswick. It may be dependent upon the wind direction but I was convinced that someone's grey tanks had overflowed until I realized what it was. The only other bad was the AWFUL leaf blower that the park seemed to feel was necessary to remove the leaves from sites. Not only was the sound obnoxious but the sand was blowing all over.
Now for the good: The laundry: nice new machines, 3 of each with a sign telling you that the dryer takes 64 minutes. The bathrooms: they are updating them and I must have used one of the new ones because it was great-lots of hot water with great pressure, a shelf for my bottles and a "lip" on the shower stall so the water stayed in it and not on the dressing area floor. Spotlessly clean, too. The campground: a small swimming lake; lovely walking trails, a dock on the creek where you can put in a watercraft; lovely and helpful staff; a huge picnic area with covered pavilions and grills.
Blythe is convenient to Brunswick, which while admittedly has some rundown areas and is a mill town, has quite a bit of history and a growing art scene. If you're there on the First Friday of any month don't miss the art exhibit openings, live music and street performers. The historic Ritz theater has performances of all types and there is a scale model of a Liberty Ship, the ones built during WWII by the Rosie the Riveters. St Simon's Island is 1/2 hour away and worth at least a day's visit. all sorts of restaurants, a lighthouse, lots of history and Fort Frederica. Jekyll Island has less to see (IMO) but several lovely beaches (especially Driftwood Beach) and worth a day visit (you'll pay $6 for parking at the visitor center as you drive onto the island-and won't be able to enter without it. )
All in all we loved the campground and the convenience. I would give it 5 stars but the leaf blower noise was really too much.
Oh-the WiFi was actually OK for us at all different times of the day, we had just barely 2 bars of Verizon but 2-3 of ATT.

Nice wooded location. Sites are pretty level. Full hook ups. We had pull through #83. Plenty wide for our Airstream awnings and accoutrements. Really quiet campground. Lovely lake for fishing or swimming. Nice bike trails. We will have this on our list of places we would like to return to.

Very nice county campground in outskirts of Brunswick GA. Close to historic Brunswick downtown, Jekyll Island, and St. Simons Island. Campground is in the woods between two waterways and a small inland lake. Sites are relatively spacious, and there are some pull-throughs large enough for big rigs. Trees and bushes between sites give good privacy. Good WIFI and cable. Good restrooms and showers. Did not use the laundry facility. Picnic table and fire ring. Domesticated rabbits roaming free and obviously well fed by the campers. Boat ramp into the South Brunswick River; kayaking in the bordering inland lake. Bring bug spray. Overall the best county campground we have visited. Would definitely return.

The park is beautiful; it's close to Jerkyll and Saint Simon Islands. The bath house is very old, but there's attempt to keep it somewhat clean. The biting gnats, though, were horrible. Probably a more outdoorsy person wouldn't mind, but I won't return.
