“world’s largest private collection of original documents”

The Karpeles Manuscript Library is the world’s largest private collection of original manuscripts and documents. The library was founded in 1983 by California real estate magnates, David and Marsha Karpeles, with the goal of stimulating interest in learning, especially in children. All of the Karpeles Manuscript Library services are free. This is one of 12 museums around the country, two of which are in Buffalo, NY.  The other is located at 220 North Street.

A really cool museum filled with a rotation of different historical documents so revisiting it often is recommended. I've seen everything from original letters from Helen Keller, sketches from Star Trek, and newspapers from when President McKinley was assassinated. Admission is always free!
