South Mountain Heritage Society preserves the historic Resurrection Reformed Church, an architectural landmark located in scenic Burkittsville, Maryland. Erected in 1829-1831, the church was the site of a field hospital following the Battles of South Mountain and Antietam in 1862. The museum includes exhibits which tell the unique heritage of Burkittsville, its people, and the surrounding country.
