The Rail

The Rail is a regional chain in Ohio only. They specialize in serving Ohio raised beef and agriculture, alongside Ohio only brews and such, which I appreciate as an Ohio native. Their creative hamburgers are delightful, in my opinion, but my dad ordered a burger that required a higher cook temp since it incorporated sausage, which did not enthuse him. He politely mentioned to the server that it was a little cool, and the server politely offered to remake another burger or send him home with one. Now you might be wondering why I would suggest a place as a Rock Solid recommendation to try if I am writing about a somewhat disappointing experience? The burger could have been better, but it's not like it was inedible. The server, to our surprise, even took the burger off the bill, which was unnecessary, but much appreciated! The burger I ate I felt was mighty tasty. It was well cooked, juicy, bursting with big meaty flavors from thick cut bacon, pork, with a crispy wonton and their house rail sauce. I guess I needed some extra protein that day. We also ordered a few happy hour apps of fried pickles and a cinnamon sugar sweet potato with marshmallow drizzle. We treated that more like a desert, but we also had robust side salads, and Ohio made boozy drinks were involved. Now that I think about it, we ate a ton of food during that lunch! I'm slightly embarrassed from a sheer consumption standpoint. Anyhow, I highly recommend checking them out if you find yourself (probably visiting family) in Ohio anytime soon.
