Portland Head Lighthouse & Museum

This is a very nice area! You don’t go in the lighthouse but there is a little gift shop and museum to walk through. Besides the amazing photos you’ll capture there is also a nice walking area with a lot of sun but sometimes you can find shade. The water is just so nice to sit and walk around. There is also a couple different food trucks around there. As well as some sort of park but I didn’t explore that area so I don’t know what’s there.
There is a parking fee, which is typical I’ve found. This is what the website says.

Metered parking will be charged 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. daily.
Hourly parking is $2 per hour/2-hour minimum.
A full day parking pass is $10.
A season pass is $15.
All passes are purchased at the meters at Fort Williams Park.
Credit cards only are accepted for payment.
The pay and display program will be in effect May 1 – November 1.
Pursuant to Maine law, a vehicle that exhibits a permanent placard, a temporary placard or a disability registration plate is exempt

I did enjoy this place a lot.

Absolutely beautiful! Lots of great picture taking opportunities. Small gift shop and museum. Try to get there before 3pm when the food trucks still out. Several places to sit and have a picnic. Also, the bathrooms are only port-a- potty’s (so just be aware).

Gorgeous! I am so glad we stopped to see this beautiful lighthouse and surrounding area. Be sure to walk all around the grounds and see the view from so many different areas. The cliff walk is fun, but not a necessity to enjoy the view. The interior lighthouse itself is not accessible, however, there is a museum that’s open, I believe a small charge. We were there September 28,2019 and they had a few refreshment trucks on site. Don’t pass it up if you have the chance. Parking was fairly easy and it was a Saturday. Happy travels.

The park is beautiful and the lighthouse is very picturesque. I really enjoyed walking down the small cliff into the rocks and watching the waves and enjoying the water. I came after 4 so I wasn't able to go inside of the museum, it's a small building so I don't imagine it would take long to walk through.

Definitely worth the visit.

This place is well visited and has good crowds. Plenty of parking and has food trunks around to get some lunch or snacks.

Spectacular

This place is so beautiful! We had 2 small kids and we all enjoyed it so much! Beautiful view and beautiful walk around the grounds. We especially liked the beach area, it's a swim at your own risk, but didn't go swimming.

This lighthouse is beautiful as all are in Maine that I have seen. I collect them and love each one no matter where from, but Maine has its special charm and coastline.

Great stop! No restrooms were open, but still a great walk along the shore.
