“the light of my life”

Welcome to Nubble Light, also known as Cape Neddick Light Station. The park that overlooks this picturesque lighthouse is called Sohier Park, donated to the Town of York by William Davies Sohier. The lighthouse itself is not accessible to the public but can be photographed and enjoyed from our park. If you come to visit, please be sure to see the Welcome Center Gift Shop! Here we have many gifts you can purchase to remind you of your trip here. No tax dollars are put towards Sohier Park or Nubble Lighthouse. 100% of all proceeds from our small Gift Shop and your donations fund the park and lighthouse. Thank you to our 30+ dedicated volunteers. Buses free and welcome.

What a great iconic lighthouse. There is plenty of parking here and it is easy to get great pictures of the light. I really enjoy this spot and will visit every time that I come back to Maine. Be sure to walk around a bit, explore the rocks and check out the lighthouse from a variety of viewpoints.

One of the quintessential Maine lighthouses. While you can't actually walk the grounds or go in the lighthouse the view of it is spectacular as it sits only 20-30 yards offshore and it is higher than the coastline near it giving a great vantage point and perfect photos. I managed to get there at high tide and capture the waves crashing against the shore in the foreground. Easy free parking and a gift shop located pretty near it. Definitely worth the stop.

This place has been a fixture in my childhood and adult life. My family vacationed in York when I was young and I now vacation here with my own family. Nubble is such a picturesque spot. As I used to enjoy as a child, my children now enjoy climbing around on the rocks at Sohier Park. Parking right at the park can be difficult at peak times, but there is a lot up Nubble Road with a short walk to the Park (and a short walk to Dunne's Ice Cream!)

A very beautiful place . We were on our way to Maine and decided to stop by in the evening . Though it was a hot day the cold breeze from the ocean made the vsit worth while.

Worth a visit if you are driving by York
