“in Colorado's Rocky Mountain majesty”
We are located on Colorado Highway 133, only six miles from the sophisticated town of Carbondale and its fine restaurants, 19 miles from the many activities of Glenwood Springs and 35 miles from the world-famous resort town of Aspen. This is a place so beautiful that you won't want to leave, and you'll find so many nearby attractions and activities that you'll want to make time for them all. From your cabin, RV or tent site, you will enjoy spectacular views of 12,965-foot Mount Sopris and a half mile of frontage along the truly beautiful Crystal River, where you can stroll along the banks and watch for birds and cast a line for trout. You can access the paved walking/biking Crystal Valley Trail right at the campground entrance and follow it to the Rio Grande Trail that runs from Glenwood Springs to Aspen. Hiking, hunting, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, jeep tours, golf, and fly-fishing are favorite activities.CARBONDALE/CRYSTAL RIVER KOA makes a great base for exploring the western slope of Colorado. Scenic drives on excellent roads will take you to Glenwood Springs and its famous hot springs and many other family activities; to the world-famous ski/resort town of Aspen; to the quaint town of Redstone, with its famous castle; to the historic mining town of Marble that supplied stone for many Washington DC buildings and monuments; and to the lively town of Paonia, with an intriguing mix of wineries, orchards and art galleries.

Very quiet place. Wifi was pretty good on the campground scale. If you are RVing it, this is a good stop.
We stay here each year we come through Colorado. We love this area. So much to do and it's a great jump off point for lots of day trips. Aspen, Carbondale and Glenwood Springs all close by. Paved riverfront biking trails into Carbondale as well. We love the Hot Springs (both the formal one in Glenwood and the 'penny springs' freebie just down the road towards Marble.
The Campground is very clean and offers great views of the Crystal River as well as Mount Sopris in the background. We always book a back in site on the river, however there are many pull through sites as well and can accommodate larger rigs. Sites are close together, but it hasn't been a problem any time we've been there. No noise issues.
Wifi at the main office/'clubhouse' but it was sketchy once you tried to use it at your campsite. Connectivity is not a big issue for us, as we were on vacation and only check in randomly.

Loved this campground! It is clean, gorgeous, the sites are nice and, if you are lucky, you can get a spot by the river.
Laundry facilities were immaculate and convenient to use.
Sites are big, they have a nice concrete pad with a table and four chairs and it is exceedingly quiet and peaceful.
There is a lovely running/bilking/walking path right outside the campground that you can take into Carbondale (about 5 miles). And Carbondale is a cute, delightful town with some very good restaurants.
There are no sewer hookups here, but the dump station is easy to use.
Only downside is that internet is very limited (and we did not get any channels on our antenna). We had to go into town to make phone calls or use the internet.

This is our second time staying here. It's a well-kept little KOA on the Crystal River, south of Carbondale. I booked the reservation first thing in January in order to get a riverside site...which is A MUST for this campground. Our camper was parked about 25 feet from the river bank. Great to hear the river at night. I paid for the deluxe site, so there was a nice charcoal grill, firepit, patio pad, and Adirondack chairs already there. Bath House is fairly new, so it was clean and nice. Just wish they had more than 2 toilet stalls. It can get busy in that bathroom. Having the on-site dog park was great too. My only complaints are that the sites are too close together so there's virtually no privacy and that there's significant road noise from Hwy 133. There are mature trees throughout the campground. Water and electric at RV sites not sure about tent sites. WiFi worked sporadically and I had limited Verizon service. We did get 4-5 TV channels with our air antenna. There's a nice bike/walking path that follows the river into Carbondale. Recommendations: Redstone Inn Grill, Redstone and White House Pizza in Carbondale.

This campground is along the Crystal River. We watched a number of fellow campers in their fly-fishing gear wade into the water to enjoy the fishing. The campground is a short drive to Redstone which has an interesting history and a charming main street. The historic Redstone Inn is a worth a visit and serves a nice breakfast. The campground is nestled into the river valley and short drives in almost any directions reveal peaks of the majestic Rockies. It's quite the place and is very well maintained with clean sites and clean bathrooms.

I have had my eye on this KOA for a few years and it did not disappoint.
The sites are above average. Although they are gravel, my site had a patio and shade. This KOA has a huge dog park, very nice bathrooms, a walking path, and it situated near Mt. Sopris, McClure Pass, and the Crystal River.
My sister-in-law encountered a bobcat along the walking path, so please be situational aware.
Although it is located right off of the highway, I don't remember hearing any noise.
WiFi was good at this location.

This is a mom and pop feel place with amazing sites along the river , huge dog park and great amenities like stylish table and chairs , concrete pad and very comfy Adirondack chairs. We wouldn’t need to leave can just listen to the river and look at the mountains above. Love it
Only negative was WiFi and cell coverage - extremely limited but was nice to take a break

The host was very accommodating at getting us the nights we needed even moving us from one site on the river to another to accomplish 3 nights. The sites on the river are gorgeous. They have a dump station but no full hookups. The bathhouse was spotless! The Wi-Fi was good enough to stream on, but there is very little cell service . We made calls with Wi-Fi calling. They close for the season October 30th
