“an oasis in the desert!”
the viewing decks wheelchair accessible (but not the falls)
This is by far my favorite swimming hole (possibly ever), we are from Austin, Tx and used to the greenbelt but there just isnt privacy and huge waterfalls like this out there. We hiked just past the big waterfall and find our own quiet oasis and had a waterfall and pool all to ourselves! Only $5, a very shirt walk, and dog friendly. WEAR WATERSHOES!!
Beautiful
First. I am sure wrong time of year, because the falls weren’t falls just trickles. March 11, 2024. The drive there from Carlsbad was long, but fun to see the cows in the road and the rock formations. I certainly would not go back, but it was worth it for today
What a pleasant delight! We had planned to hike up Guadalupe Peak but the winds were too high, so we took a side trip to Sitting Bull Falls. It was just lovely! What a delightful surprise just around the bend.
This place is worth the $5 to get in. It is an easy walk to the viewing area of the falls and there not not many steps to get down to the falls. As a side note for anyone looking to camp, There is BLM spots just before the entrance of Sitting Bull.
I am completely in love with this place! It is so beautiful and fun to explore!
