“Over 55 feet tall”
World's Largest Wind Chime. The wind chime stands over 55 feet high and has five metal tubes suspended 49 feet from the ground. The total structure, including the chimes, weighs 16,932.4 pounds. The dream to build the World's Largest Wind Chime was inspired by Jim Bolin's childhood memories of listening to wind chimes at his Grandma Whitling's home. Combined with his knowledge of the pipeline maintenance industry, Jim spent almost two years designing, planning, and fabricating the wind chime. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of several Bolin family members and friends, the wind chime was assembled and officially measured on December 15, 2011.
OMG! So underrated. We got off the interstate to see the world's largest wind chime and we hit the jackpot. My grandkids traveling to St Louis were 8, 10 and almost 12 years old, so this was just going to be a short site seeing stop. We thought we would get a soda and stretch are legs. Well we got off the highway, followed the signs but got near the last turn and turned the wrong way. What a great mistake. We found the world's largest mailbox, the worlds largest bird cage and the worlds largest pencil. I cannot say how much fun we had. Straight down the street the other way was the wind chime and the worlds largest rocking chair. OMG, we also shopped the antique shops, had a soda, visited the corner yarn shop which had the largest knitting and crochet needles. A few blocks away was the largest golf tee and a sign for the largest pitch fork which we did not see. This is a undiscovered gem.
Fun little town of big things. Fun place to stop and take a few group photos. Go to the candy shop they are very friendly. It's about a block away from the wind chimes, behind the giant sky mailbox! Great location to get out and walk around for a bit. We didn't find a restroom but most places were closed on a Sunday.
As advertised, it is a large wind chime. The surrounding area is clearly dedicated to these tourist sites, but aside from the novelty, there's not much to them. A nice spot to stop and have lunch or stretch your legs if it's on your route, but not worth more than a five-minute detour.
Fun family stop. This is one of four World's Largest attractions in Casey. It is across the road from the fifth which is under construction (rocking chair). We had lots of fun.
Fun stop and a cute cafe. The world's largest rocking chair is being installed across the street and the golf tee is close by.
It's looks neat but sounds terrible. Worth the stop if you go check out the nearby golf tee as well.
Per my review on the Worlds Largest Rocking Chair, Casey is such a unique and friendly town that we highly recommending stopping in while traveling through the area. Totally worth it.
What a fun place. Drop in and get a bubble tea, or some ice cream at the local shop.
We LOVED Casey, IL! Such a sweet little town, definitely worth a stop.
You can actually ring the chime! (It's too heavy for wind to actually move it.
