“center for contemporary art”
A landmark building on the National Register of Historic Places, CSPS Hall is known today as Eastern Iowa's center for contemporary art, music and theatre. Following an epic flood in 2008, the building underwent a $7-million makeover, re-opening in time for Labor Day 2011. The renovated structure today houses three galleries, two theatres, a conference room, a classroom, and an arts incubator, all under the management of the award-winning nonprofit, Legion Arts. Ground floor tenants include New Bo Books, Brewed Cafe, and Studio U photo studio, all of which opened in the spring of 2012.
A hidden gem in a historical building offering diverse music, art, and theater. This nonprofit organization prides itself in providing diverse events at super low admission fees. Read more
