“Picturesque, pastoral Middle Tennessee”
Henry Horton State Park was constructed in the 1960s on the estate of the former governor of Tennessee, Henry Horton. The park is located on the shores of the historic Duck River, the longest stretch of free flowing river in Tennessee. Remnants of a mill and bridge operated and used by Horton’s spouse’s family for over a century may be seen today on the Wilhoite Mill Trail. The park offers several lodging options, including an inn, eight cabins, 72 campsites and primitive campsites. There is also a group campsite available. The inn features a restaurant that is open seven days a week. The Buford Ellington championship golf course at Henry Horton State Park is one of the finest courses in the state of Tennessee. This challenging course is heavily treed with hardwoods and contains 37 bunkers.
Beautiful park. Very well maintained!
Clean showers and bathrooms. Nice hiking trails across the road. Nice and quiet.
This is a beautiful campground and is very shady. It is well kept and much involved rangers have numerous programs for the whole family every day 7 days a week. Bath houses are well kept and easy to get to
