“Passion for making great cocktails!”
We've always had a passion for constructing great cocktails. In the year preceding Bloomery's official launch, we began perfecting our craft. While experimenting with fruit, alcohol and public feedback, our development phase was born and began to bear fruit. On a trip to Italy, we then discovered what would become the core of our business, limoncello. Failing to replicate the flavor experience of the hand-crafted tastes of Europe, we became determined to bring to market in America our own farm-fresh fruit cordials. We have been on a passionate path to provide the finest artisan elixirs ever since. In pursuing our vision of opening a mini-distillery in America we found a unique 12-acre parcel in Charles Town, WV, with an 1840s, abandoned log cabin steeped in history, but in need of a loving restoration. We took on the challenge and created a charming mini-distillery where we make artisan fruit cordials by hand from our farm's own lemons and raspberries. Yes, lemons in WV—which makes a limoncello that rivals any award-winning italian limoncello. Hands-down! Loving the creativity and freedom of running a mini-distillery, we've added to our original creation. We've crafted a variety of "cellos," from our Cremma Lemma and Lemon Ice, to our proprietary Raspberry Limoncello. Open Fridays and Saturday, 11 am -8 pm; Live Music, 6-8 pm
My sister was visiting today, so I wanted to give her a tasting tour of the nearby area. Our last stop of the day was at Bloomery and I am so glad I happened upon this place to add it to our list!
We were received immediately and warmly when we walked out of our car and the gentlemen who greeted us helped us get situated and ready for our tasting. Our Sweetshine tasting was AWESOME! Firstly, the tasting is free, which is great. But more importantly it was fun! We got some humor, we got some history, we got some recipes, but most of all we got knowledgeable descriptions of each of the drinks we were tasting and the opportunity to try them again to make decisions about what we wanted! It was a lovely experience.
We all bought multiple bottles of SweetShine (SOOOOOO excited about the Ginger Shine!) and we also bought a mixed drink while we were there and enjoyed the rustic and comfortable appeal of the location. I am looking forward to a return trip and sharing Bloomery with other friends and family. I am also looking forward to the drinks I will enjoy with my purchases!
Small place but the people are fun to be with. I haven't experienced their music nights but plan on visiting. We bring friends when ever they visit and everyone has a good time.
A place of fun and good people oh and yummy moonshine
This is by far one of the best places in the tristate area!!! Nothing like History... Hooch and hospitality all wrapped into one...
Everyone here is the best! It's so fun! I'm gonna keep coming back til they ban me for life...
