“One of the last covered bridges”
One of the last remaining covered bridges in Illinois, the Sugar Creek Covered Bridge, was built in 1880 and has a 60 foot clear span.
This was so cool. It is set off from the road and you cant drive on it. But you can walk on it and we took some great pictures. What a great old bridge and park.
This is a cute stop but can be a longer than anticipated trip if not directly on Rt 66. We enjoyed it! There is a place to park and a little area to relax before getting back into the car.
Beautiful!
Beautiful setting!! The bridge is in great condition!!
This was pretty close to another stop I was planning on making so I thought "why not?!". The bridge is the beginning of a couple of hiking trails. I didn't take the time to explore them but it was a pretty place and the bridge is in good shape.
