“America's First Planetarium”

The Adler Planetarium — America's First Planetarium — was founded in 1930 by Chicago business leader Max Adler. The museum is home to three full-size theaters, extensive space science exhibitions, and one of the world's most important antique astronomical instrument collections on display. The Adler is a recognized leader in science education, with a focus on inspiring young people, particularly women and minorities, to pursue careers in science.

Didn't actually have a chance to check out the Planetarium but the view from just outside of it of the city is to die for! Absolutely phenomenal! Photo added to the description.. its a great sunset spot and is very cool to see the light transition during blue hour of the city lights turning on!

My wife and I went expecting a lot of interactive, mind blowing exhibits and maybe some cool shows to see. Unfortunately, you have to pay separate to see any show, and while some of the exhibits were cool (a lot of things from actual space missions), I think the very disarray arrangement made it hard to enjoy. We spent more time wondering whether we had already seen something and were walking backwards or not than enjoying some of the exhibits. It's not entirely clear how you're supposed to walk around, including how to even get from floor to floor.

It's probably worth a visit for kids, but as adults we just didn't find it all that enjoyable.

The planetarium was amazing to see with all the artifacts. They had actual astrologists there to answer questions and provide information. It is definitely economical for a family to enjoy without breaking the bank.
