“family owned & operated since 1963”
It was 1963 when Jim Stolfe traded his 1962 Oldsmobile Starfire for a small pizza-joint on Chicago's South Side. Humble beginnings evolved into a strong family business and one of the most beloved pizzas in Chicago.
Delicious deep dish. Though I've only had one deep dish pizza. Here. Last night. But, it was delicious! You can basically add whatever toppings you want to it, so I had spicy sausage, pepperoni, bacon and roasted red peppers and it really hit the spot.
FOOD: Pizzas come in three sizes. The Small was big enough for me and a friend. We also got the calamari, and it was great. Lightly breaded with really good marinara sauce.
SERVICE: Service was prompt and super friendly. I had a baby and they let me keep my stroller by the table and brought a high chair too. Overall, great experience on my first night in Chicago.
AMBIANCE: This left a bit to be desired. It was pretty 90s decor. So, not the best interior design, but good eats and great service.
PRICE: Very reasonable. Especially for this area, a pizza for two, appetizer and two beers will set you back like $50.
