“The essence of Japanese Comfort Food”
Slurping Turtle strives to recreate for guests Chef Takashi's childhood culinary experiences in Japan, and the essence of Japanese Comfort Food. The turtle is a symbol of longevity in Japan. Come and slurp to your hearts content. The light-hearted name's a nod to the "Happy Slurping" slogan on servers' T-shirts during Sunday noodle service at Takashi, combined with the fact that the turtle is a symbol of luck and longevity in Japan. Located on the first floor of a seven-story building, the eatery will offer sashimi, noodle dishes, Japanese grill items and steamed shumai and other dumplings. The menu also includes small plate picks such as fried oysters and duck fat-fried chicken, along with wine, beer and sake. Save room for macaroons, cream puffs and black sesame ice cream for dessert.
The homemade noodles alone are worth a trip. The pickled mustard greens are a tangy bonus.
