“dozens of sculptures to view as you walk”
Lakenenland Sculpture Park is a roadside stop off of M-28, about 15 miles east of Marquette. It was created by Tom LaKenen who started out creating these sculptures as a hobby. Eventually, he needed more room for the sculptures he created, thus Lakenenland was born. Today, there are dozons of sculptures to view as you walk through the park. Admission to the park is free, but donations are gladly accepted.
This is a MUST SEE! Spring, summer, fall, or winter! Snowmobile through, sit at the bonfire, sing a song, and warm up with hot chocolate. Love this place, and stop every time I'm in the area to see what's new.
We visit every year and there's always something different. It's a secret treasure!
Go to this place!!! We were really surprised at just how cool this place actually was!! We were expecting some kitschy spot and what we stumbled upon was some true artistry. You won't be sorry. Be sure to check out the entire place!!
Great stop. Bog walk was worth it. Kids loved all of it.
Very cool place to see, open year round. Snowmobile tral goes right to it and it's a popular stop on the trail to warm up around the bon fire.
Creatively beautiful, he takes what others would think of as trash or scrap and makes these gorgeous creatures. Take some time and really explore the grounds. Great place to get out and stretch your legs. Let the kids and the dogs run a little bit and hop back on the road for another long driving stretch in the U.P.
