“reveled local fish bar”

Carry out only. A lot of places in this city have fish, but if you are a fried fish lover, I would have to recommend a small diamond in the rough. Alabama Fish is one of the best fish places around the Cincinnati area. It's taste takes you back to where you care about the taste and not the calories. Now if you are on a diet I wouldn't recommend you have any. You can get hooked. The price for 5 large pieces of whiting and fries runs you only $5.50.

i'm not a fan of fish... but i love this place. FYI Snoop Dogg references it in a song with Hi-Tek called How We Do It:

What's the name of that fish spot in the 'Natti I like goin to?
You know what's happenin
Yeah, Alabama's; that the name of it?
Get me some nephew, that three-piece dinner
Yeah, and tell Boosie I'm back

I made the mistake of waiting far too long to try this place. Best fried cod I’ve ever had.

Don't eat fried fish anywhere else in the world but this place. There are few things better than Alabama's with peppers and onions, topped with hot sauce and ketchup and a side of tarter sauce. Yes, I'm serious.

If you can, eat it outside because the smell never comes out. Ever.

For whatever reason, it took me a couple months of working in OTR before I tried Alabama's. Folks around me raved about it, as though it would change my life. Eventually I succumbed and tried it. It was good, and that's about all there is to it.

It is fried fish, and french fries. That is all.

Never got the big 'stink' about this place. Sure it's fish and I like fish but never quite understood what was so amazing about it. It's simple fried fish with fries. I know I'm likely to upset most downtown residents with that statement but I just don't see the appeal.

Holy Toledo, this place has some amazing fried fish. The fried cod is unreal, with the hot peppers and onions.. mouth is watering just thinking about it right now, realizing I need to get back there, ASAP!

I knocked The Anchor, a nearby seafood place, for being an uptight, overpriced fish place in the midwest, which makes Alabama's the complete antithesis. This place is cheap (cash only), gives you huge portions, and is so deep-fried and goddamn delicious that you won't even give a shit that the fish is frozen. No uptight servers here, just great, greasy good that's really bad for you.

Don't let the looks of the place deceive you- the food here is amazing. Get the cod dinner and enjoy some greasy, delicious, fried fish!

If you like stinking cheapo Walmart frozen fish dripping in old grease that urgently needs changing for public health reasons, topped with soggy flavorless mush that apparently was once some kind of dire GMO onion and pepper combo, all cooked by someone that has clearly never seen an ocean let alone a living fish, who then dumps some of the most flavorless soggy assed fries you've ever seen on the side, then this is the place for you! Still the land loving locals seem to love it for some bizarre reason, and I feel bad knocking an OTR institution, so try it out and judge for yourself.
