Obama told the world in 2008 that Pi Pizzeria was his favorite Deep Dish and there's been no looking back. This pizza is dank (in the best way possible). They use corn meal to bind the deep dish crust so you can pick it up--sauce and all--and not worry about it ending up on your lap. They have thin crust too if you're feeling less adventurous. I split the Berkeley veggie pizza with two friends and got my fill, but my taste buds were left wanting another. Reasonably priced ($20 for a large deep dish pie) with a full beer selection to match. My only complaint is that I went during the first week of operation and the staff was actually annoyingly hospitable. It was so ridiculously thick and saucy, I almost wished I was eating it alone with zero distraction.
Cincinnati was definitely lacking in the deep dish pizza category, but Pi Pizzeria has for sure filled the void. They have thin crust as well but I highly suggest the deep dish. I went with the build your own and added meatball along with a various other items and it was amazing. Great beer selection as well! I do agree with the staff being a little overbearing, couldn't tell if it was because they are still new or if being kinda snarky was they're thing. Either way the pizza is great, give it a go!
Very good. I split the Berkeley with a couple friends and it was a perfect amount of food. The cornmeal deep dish crust is crispy and delicious. And they have Rhinegeist on tap. They just need to chill out a little bit with the overeager service. Nice people though!
