“American Fare, Beer and the Blues”
The Eagle, Food and Beer Hall is a restaurant and bar that celebrates straightforward, American fare; 100 different beers; and the sounds of blues music. Most prominently, we serve antibiotic free, all natural, fried chicken. Bar snacks, delicious salads, and a few sandwiches are also available. Approximately 100 beers ranging from stouts, lambics, porters, lagers and ales are offered. A 16-head tap pours local craft and other domestic brews. A wide mixture of Southern, Texas, British, Electric, and Delta blues is played over our loud speakers. The interior is a modern, but rustic take on an old European beer hall, mixed with queues from the old post office that once inhabited the very same space. It's a gathering place for friends and family, and a watering hole that is comfortable, and affordable. We hope you stop in to see us soon!
Get here early or prepare to take a seat at the bar, because The Eagle is always jam-packed, and for good reason. Their fried chicken (especially the fried chicken sandwich) is nothing short of amazing, and if you think you've got room, the spicy mac & cheese will keep you coming back. Do yourself a favor, and the next time you visit with a group, order a pitcher of the OTR iced tea, The Eagle's spin on a Long Island Iced Tea. Drinks easy, tastes great, and everyone will get bombed.
The Eagle has only been open a couple of months, and is already becoming pretty legendary locally for its fried chicken. An 'all American' menu, bar and atmosphere here, but done well. Beware after work and especially at weekends - the wait is often 30-60 mins. This place is very popular and very busy.
great atmosphere, very crowded, delicious food. Waitress was friendly and they serve up food pretty quick which gets people in and out fast. Best fried chicken I've had in Cincinnati. Prices are on par with the rest of the restaurants in OTR... ~$15 for a great meal (unless you're drinking!). The best deal seems to be the 1/4 or 1/2 chicken
Delicious fried chicken. Sides don't come with the meal, and those who associated fried chicken with low cost may scoff at the prices, but you won't leave hungry or disappointed for $15 (including tip!). Only had the 1/4 dark meat chicken, and can say it was some of the best fried chicken I've ever paid for. The mac and cheese has a unique taste (sprinkled with some sort of onion rub) and was great tasting too. The Eagle's atmosphere could easily suit $15 entrees but you won't pay near that much. Feel fancy while eatin' comfort food.
Just finally had my first taste of the Eagle and man did it live up the expectations. I had the fried chicken sandwich with fries which was damn good. It's a little bit more pricy than the average chicken sandwich place but overall it's for sure worth it. Just get there a little early because the wait can be a little long.
Great beer list followed by great food makes the wait worth waiting. Too bad the service doesn't match the food. Service was diffident at best. Salads come in full and half sizes, with full being great for sharing. Fried chicken sandwich merits the reputation. Great sides too. Collards,
Here's what you do. Get to Eagle, put your name in, go drink somewhere else for a few hours (because there's always a wait because of how good the food is), and take your seat when you're called. Go with a group large enough where you can get a bunch of different things. Try everything, you won't be disappointed.
The Eagle has delicious fried chicken and corn bread. It's always super crowded (often a good bar scene) so be ready for a wait. I'd recommend elsewhere if it's dinner time or later and you have a little one's with you.
I went to the Eagle with a group of 8 on a Sunday night and had an awesome time. It took about an hour for our group to be seated, but it was absolutely worth the wait. The fried chicken sandwich is--as everybody else here has mentioned--phenomenal, although spicier than I had expected. The spoonbread, grits, and mac n cheese are all excellent sides to pair with a meal that is both ridiculously delicious and insanely affordable.
I first went here for a job interview over some beer and appetizers. Hands down best job interview ever. The decor and atmosphere are great and the food was quite delicious. Definitely going back for non work related functions.
