“fine dining in an old-world steakhouse”
The Precinct began the Jeff Ruby tradition of dining in restaurants with a story. Housed in the former Police Patrol House Number 6, this 1901 Romanesque-style structure with its round, arched windows and intimate, rich interior is in the National Registry of Historic Landmarks and is the perfect setting for this old-world steakhouse.
Having celebrities at his restaurants is a common occurrence in Jeff Ruby’s restaurants. In fact, The Precinct, the first of his stable of high-end steakhouses, was founded in 1981 with the backing of several professional athletes in Cincinnati. With that said, Ruby knew even then that the key to having a successful establishment was to not only have great clientele, but to deliver an absolutely incomparable total dining experience, one that is now known as The Jeff Ruby Experience.
Never had anything less than an amazing steak and experience at this place. Really great staff, great atmosphere, the whole nine yards.
Known as one of the best restaurants in Cincy, it's an iconic steak house. I don't really like steak houses - I find them all the same food wise, decor wise, and human wise. It's not my thing and I'd say this one falls into the generic category. Couldn't tell the difference in meat quality between this and Jeff Rubys on downtown. Also, it's in a bad location, randomly outside cincinnati along the highway.
The Precinct easily has the best steak in the city, and phenomenal service. I had the Dusty Baker. The prices are high, but worth every penny.
The Precinct is s unique historic building that makes a great atmosphere for an elegant date night. Sure they have steaks, and you can't go wrong, but be sure to try the macaroni and cheese side and the carrot cake dessert!
Exceptional food and service. It's worth the price for special occasions. Truly fantastic!
Everything here is great. One of the best steaks in the city, great side dishes and salads, all served to you by expert service.
