“Good Eats & Fine Cocktails”
Housed in the former studio and manufacturing facility of the world-renown Rookwood Pottery Co., The Rookwood Bar & Restaurant opened its doors in 2008. Featuring a menu of freshly prepared food and craft beverages.
A source of pride for every Cincinnatian, this unique Mt. Adams location housed one of the greatest ceramics brands the world has seen.
For all of the places in Mt. Adams, this is probably the most underrated one. It's upscale pub food (think burgers and fries), but in a quieter atmosphere with killer views of the city. And the food is realllllly good, despite being not too expensive.
Try the bourbon cocktails too!
The best part about The Rookwood is the awesome view of the city you get from their outdoor deck. I thought that the food was delicious, if a bit pricey. Definitely worth checking out if you're in Mount Adams. Be sure and walk down to the flagpole outside of the restaurant after dinner to see the whole city spread out beneath you.
If you need a fancy looking place to take your date, The Rookwood can fill that need. The food isn't bad, but it's nothing you'll flip over. The ambiance, on the other hand, is pretty great.
I don't think anyone could claim this place has the best food, it's pretty much your standard American pub type fare - burgers, caesar salads etc, but it is a very interesting spot as it was once the home of Rookwood pottery (now in Over The Rhine). If you are lucky you can actually sit at tables inside the old pottery kilns with a small group for dinner. Also have amazing views of the city and a great outdoor seating deck.
When it's nice out, you can sit on the deck and it's beautiful to watch the sun set over the city.
If you go here ask if there's any availability to dine in one of the kilns. It's really neat, it's a repurposed kiln where they used to do iconic Rookwood pottery. If you're into pubs, this is your place. It definitely has a Ron Burgundy-esque vibe, with all the rich mahogany everywhere. I really enjoy coming here. The servers are very nice and attentive in my opinion. Try the fries and the mushroom burger!
Would say not good and not bad, it's pretty typical American bar food - burgers and the likes. It's good bar food, definitely on the heavy side and when the weather is nice they have a cool patio outside. They also serve brunch which again, I'd say not good and not bad. Good for cold weather as the menu items are all pretty heavy. Would prefer to go here for a drink out on the deck on a nice night more than to eat.
