In 1960, Gordy & Marilyn built Gordy's Hi-Hat in Cloquet, which is now in its 53th season. Everything is done the same way - fresh hand-pattied hamburgers, home-made onion rings, fresh hand-dipped fish, and fresh blended shakes. Gordy and Marilyn, both in their 80's, are still active in the business. They live 6 months in Sarasota, Florida, and return every spring to the Hi-Hat for another season. Featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives!
Been there...done that and would go again! Gordy's is a hamburger joint and if you want a good burger, onion rings and a shake...go to Gordy's! Lunch time on the weekends the place is pack, however the service is fast. Not fast food just fast. We love it. Almost as good as Clyde's in Sault Saint Marie, Michigan
What a classic little American diner! Over 50 years of doing things practically the same way. Oh those onion rings! Expect a crowd, but also expect the service to move the crowd through swiftly.
