“Columbia's art center”
The week the Tapp's Art Center will be hosing the Festival of Doom. A city that is rich in culture is a city that is rich indeed. Such richness goes beyond wealth and status into the very souls of the people who make up a community. More often than not a city or region is defined by its culture; its unique brand of artists, style of music, or strength of performance. Such culture would not exist without a communities’ creative class and a community that embraces those who transform their way of life into literature, sculptures, paintings or performances. A cultural hot spot that breathes creativity will not only provide the necessary elements an artist needs to succeed but will also educate the public on the importance of all creative processes and those who undertake them. The Tapp’s Arts Center will provide the three essential creative components all artists need; work space, display venues, and selling potential. At the same time, the center will provide the essential components the community needs to be involved with and knowledgeable about the arts; including a diverse arts education program, community outreach, and free public events. A public-private venture between Real World Artisans, LLC; the City of Columbia; and other arts-related businesses and organizations will create a well-rounded and productive facility. Each entity will bring a significant piece of this project to the table and the community as a whole would benefit.
