We didn't camp here, but drove up from Houghton to see the mountian drive, the fort, and the town. Super impressed with the kid's hands on activities in the fort. There's also popular mountian biking trails (some of the best in the area). The campground was definitely crowded, but lots of bushes and trees between sites so it looked decent. We would stay there on a return trip.

1 bar Verizon 4G unboosted. Got it up to 3-4 bars with a booster.

What a wonderful campground. We were in the west campground. 50 pull through with nice paved spot. No water or sewer. Our spot was roomy, quite and private. It was also well shaded. The east campground seemed more open, less shade, gravel small spaces but better wifi. All interior roads are paved and it is very easy to get to. Restrooms and showers clean but dated. Wifi was only good at restrooms. Verizon coverage was weird. There were spots that worked. A cell booster would hook you up but unfortunately our power suppl failed. We did get some coverage in our spot

The campgrounds were immaculate. The hosts had coffe made each morning and were very helpful with things to do and see on the Keweenaw Peninsula. You can walk to town, about 1/2 mile and you can walk to the Copper Harbor Lighthouse overlook. There are nice trails along the lake and the Fort is worth the time to walk around.

We also drove over to check out the competition at Fanny Hoe. Hands down stay in the State Park

We were there in July / August 2016. Typical State park but not crowded in the least. Self guided tour at the Fort was interesting. Copper Harbor is a nice little town.
Lots of hiking and mountain biking trails. Two track out to the tip of the peninsula was a bit rough but doable in the truck and beautiful. There is camping out there on a first come basis.

16 - 22 July 2020 We had #119 which was close enough to the rest room that we could pick up wifi. If you are 2 sites away from restroom you have to walk over to the restroom to pick up wifi. We made a couple of calls using wifi calling. There was not even att in the town of Copper Harbor. One site we really liked was 117. We would go up to the top of Brockway mountain to the lookout point park to watch the sunset and could pick up 4 bars att. But nothing once you come off mountain. We stayed 6 nights and were busy hiking, driving and biking everyday. One neat thing to do is go to the Delaware Mine on a self guided tour. It is nothing fancy but you get a feel for being in a mine. Take a flashlight to use to look up where it is dark.

One of the nicest state parks I’ve stayed at. The west campsites were nicer then the East but both suffer from no cell coverage and weak Wi-Fi. The trails and fort were great.

Michigan SP's are expensive unless you are a resident and/or have the annual pass. If you are a Senior Resident you are double lucky. They charge extra fees for everything! Here again, bring plenty of long extension chords as you may or may not need them.

Sites are heavily wooded on the fringe and Lake Superior's famous Copper Harbor is on the north side of Rte 41 and a short diastase through the woods. It is a lovely place just on the edge of the small town named the same. It doesn't take many people to make a crowd here and it is at the end of the road out a long peninsula. It is also one of the few stops noticeable after a beautiful drive through the deep woods on a narrow highway. Be sure to drive UP Brockway mountain without your trailer or big motor home. It is a 700' climb and you look down on all the freighters up and down bound carrying ore, grain, etc. It shows how busy the lake is with commercial traffic.

Site pads are mixed gravel and some with hard surfacing.

We stayed here in early June to serve as a base camp for our day trip to Isle Royale NP. As many have mentioned, the town of Copper Harbor, MI, is a delightful town worth exploring - and if you are a fan of fishing, boating, or kayaking this place would be great as the West Campground is situated right along Lake Fanny Hooe. The campsites are spacious and seem to accommodate a wide variety of vehicle types. Bathrooms are quite clean and in good condition. We stayed in the West Campground which is closer to town and seems to have better access to Lake Fanny Hooe, although we did not explore the East Campground which I'm sure is relatively similar in quality. The one downside was the added costs applied to out of state campers. On top of the campsite fee, if you reserve a site online there is an $8.00 reservation fee. In addition, when you arrive at the campsite you have to acquire a Michigan State Recreation Passport for your motor vehicle which is $9.00/day. I'd say if you plan on visiting multiple Michigan State Parks to get the $32.00 annual pass that they offer. So if you are eager to explore Copper Harbor, take a day trip to Isle Royale, or simply relax at a lakeside campsite, take the plunge. Another plus - NO MOSQUITOES!

Mostly wanted to append the other reviews to say there is no cell signal here. Boosted Verizon gave 2 bars, but nothing would go through. AT&T was zilch. The bathrooms have WiFi’s, but it is delivered by homing pidgin (250kbps).

Some sites have gravel pass, some are just grass. Really hit and miss. Our site (31) was pretty decent. Need a 50’ power cord though.

The hosts do have free coffee, so that’s worth a lot.

Park was just great, lots to see and do in the area especially if you like to take walks or bike. We walked into town from our campsite one day, another day we walked through the self tour of Fort Wilkins and still had several walks along the Fanny Hooe lake paths and to the camp store, where they have the best ice cream! Campsites are discribed well on the website with pictures so you can see them and how level they, greenery separating the sites gives each one a bit of privacy. There was a great camp host and the bathrooms with hot showers were cleaned daily. Our only complaint was that we had to leave!

We stayed in East side campground. We had a hard time finding a flat site available. But once we found that we were good. Busy campground. Old bathrooms but well maintained. Had a great shower. We also used the laundry room. Had to run over to Park store for quarters. Prices were high at the store but there was a little of everything.

They had no cell service but there was some internet/WiFi by the bath house.

Easy walk to Lake Superior. Great sunset and sunrise on Lake Superior. Also could see lighthouse. Rocky beach, so different from typical sand. Fun to rock hunt.

There was a bike path but was more mountain bike oriented. Road the road into town, some fun shops.
