While i was touring Texas, i have to admit that one of my top favorite places in this uniquely beautiful State was definitely The Dallas Arboretum.

WOW ! This is the first sound that gets out of my mouth when thinking all the great fun we had on this huge 66 acre place with really majestic landscapes where you just feel like being in Paradise on Earth. This is exactly what ideally every city should have in a close proximity for its locals.

Therefore, when visiting Dallas and its surrounding areas, you should definitely visit the Dallas Arboretum. Just don't forget to wear some comfy walking shoes, since you will need at least 4-5 hours to get a clear picture of what this wonderful natural place is all about. Because it is 'flooded' with beautiful flowers, if you are going to visit it during spring or summer , then do not forget to take you a good bug spray, since they are loads of bugs and mosquito. During the summer season a good sunscreen and sunglasses are a must.

If visiting with children do not forget to visit the Butterfly area, great opportunity for some amazing photos. There are also some wet designated areas where the kids can play with water, and if you will visit it on Wednesday there is an event called 'Feeding Zoo' as well as there is a free face painting event for kids. You are also strongly suggested to take the little tram that will give you a small tour around the premises.

One of the greatest advantages of Dallas Arboretum is that is very friendly for wheelchair users as well as seniors. Even though it can be considered a rather costly escape to nature, it is definitely worth every penny you will spent.

If you want to save money, then you should visit it during August since you can purchase half price tickets one day/week and there are also senior discounts.

Overall a great place to visit for the whole day. A great thing to know is also that there is always something new happening every couple of months, the gardens also change colors and no matter how often you may visit it, there will be always something new to draw your attention. In case i will return to Texas, i will definitely visit Dallas Arboretum.

This is a fun place to go, but I don't recommend going during the weekend. It is crowded and ruins the serenity of the area. The offer Tea Services which I have attended once and loved it. Kinda spendy so I only go during birthdays and such. Enjoy!

I visited Dallas Arboretum with my boyfriend and another friendly couple last year and we had a great time. When we arrived we were surprised by how big this place was and how beautiful. There are plenty of things to see there except from the wonderful gardens, there is an outdoor cafe with a nice view of the lake, a nice gift shop and many interesting activities for your kids too. My tip is to try visit this place while everything is in bloom and with a nice weather, cause the beauty of this landscape is at its finest this time of the year.

Beautiful gardens with $15M annual budget. Took our engagement pictures here. Visiting the pumpkin village in the fall is an annual family tradition.

It was a very hot but nice walk through the gardens. We went during August $1 days. With our family of 4 entrance to the children's garden (was $3 extra) and parking (you have to pay $5 to park) it was $11 total. Make sure you bring water. There are a few areas where the kids can play in water so we brought bathing suits and a towel. There was also a few places with water misters to cool off.

The arboretum is really spectacular. I can't believe I live here and only started going to the arboretum a year ago. This is a wonderful place, for both children and adults. It's affordable and if you're a local, I highly recommend purchasing a yearly membership. After about three visits or less, the membership pays for itself (free parking and it is valid for many, if not most, major nationwide arboretums. They can provide a list of all the participating locations. The new children's section is a real treat too! I only wish they stayed open late enough to catch a nice sunset there... they are only open till 5PM (but they are open every day of the year except Christmas and Easter).
