When planning a visit definitely pencil in eating lunch here as well. The museum was free to walk through and they offered an optional 20 minute video about their history. There is a large bean can you can walk through. Makes for a great photo opportunity! There is a large country store attached to the museum. It's like walking back in time with the old glass display cases at the register. Then you can walk next door to the cafe where they give you a free sample of their beans before ordering. We had a chili dog and a bowl of chili with a grilled cheese sandwich. Topped it off with a pecan pie that had pinto beans in it. When we were there it all closed at 4pm so I'd recommend getting there no later than 2 if you don't want to rush through it. Worth the visit.

What a great find! My husband had the pulled pork and I had the catfish. Excellent food!

Fun place, all you want to know about the company, free picture with duke. On a background picture, eat at the cafe, great food, I had a club sandwich and my husband had the pulled pork sandwich, they give you a little bowl of baked beans before your food arrives.

Recently added this to our list of food related museum stops, and it kept up with the likes of the SPAM museum, original KFC, and so many more! Lots of fun displays and way more bean info than you can digest. See the original recipe book (although it is locked behind "lasers" so don't get too close!) Watch the bean history movie. Get a free souvenir picture taken with a photoshopped Duke the dog. Shop for country relics and never before seen flavors of beans in the general store. Find out how much you weigh in beans. Then be sure to eat at the cafe.

And if you try one of their famous bean pies, I suggest waiting a half hour, then going back to the museum to see how many beans worth of weight you have lost...

Really nice stop off of 411. We went after the Forbidden Caverns. Museum with history of Bush's and Chestnut Hill. Museum decoding activity with lots of interactive exhibits for kids. They have a cute general store and the cafe is a must. Thick cut bologna sandwich, reubens, fried fresh okra, lots of homemade pies and of course beans. My 8 year old was very engaged.

Okay. Tired family? Hiking the Smokies, the excitement of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg has the kids all riled up? Take a short drive for an adorable day! How fun from duke's dog house to how much you weigh in beans. Did you know the bacon in the can doesn't do anything but it's there because of customer demand! Totally worth the trip!
