“Serving the future leaders of the nation for over 45 years”
Originally founded as a branch campus of The Ohio State University and Miami University, Wright State became an independent institution in 1967. On November 28, 2012, Presidents E. Gordon Gee from Ohio State and David Hodge from Miami joined Wright State President David R. Hopkins for a special Presidential Lecture Series event in celebration of Wright State’s 45th anniversary. Together we looked back on Wright State’s history and forward to the future of higher education.
I am a graduate of Wright State. It was a fine college experience. I like to think my Computer Science education has served me well over the years, and I have been pleased with the quality of the work my fellow graduates have done.
Wright State is a very accessible school; all buildings are connected by a system of tunnels so students never need face the elements once they are in a building. This is great for everyone.
Wright State also boasts a terrific theatre department. The student performances are top-notch, with many locals purchasing season tickets every year.
Been to many Wright State basketball games in my day at the Nutter Center. Not always the greatest team on the court, but still an enjoyable time. The Nutter Center also holds a bunch of other events such as concerts, hockey, graduations, and sometimes professional wrestling. It's definitely one of the top arenas in the Dayton area.
