“a slice of the south”
In order to know Southern Sweets bakery you would have to hear its story. It begins when four-year old Nancy Cole was permitted to stand on a stool beside her grandmother while she prepared luscious desserts for her large family. As the grandmother hummed, sang, and worked her magic, she shared her cooking secrets with the eager tot beside her. Nancy never forgot. Thirty years later she founded Southern Sweets Bakery where her motto is, "Perfect Ingredients, Simple Preparation". All with a broad smile! Today Southern Sweets has a large list of restaurants and companies for whom we currently provide desserts. So when you familiarize yourself with all of our delectable treats, you will be able to spot the signature of Southern Sweets all over town. Open to the retail public since 1992, now our individual customers can purchase their favorites in a casual, friendly atmosphere. Along with their favorite sandwich or soup. Shipping is planned for the near future. Not only is the food still done the same way it was prepared 10 years ago, we have something for virtually every taste. And who can help but enjoy themselves when they come down to the bakery and see it all in action and savor the sweet aroma? If we are lucky enough to get your visit, you will find someone happy to greet you at the front door. And in the back you will find our ovens at full march as they bring the wonderful mixtures to life. We have been written up for our unwavering quality in papers like and including the Atlanta Journal Constitution. For us, it's a lot of fun to bring these yummy desserts to the attention of food lovers everywhere. Just as when grandmother and granddaughter stood side by side at the preparation counter, this is a family-run business. Right now we are a crew of 16.The mother (Nancy), daughter (Ashley), son (David), and son-in-law (Matt) work together to bring you the best home-cooked products around. Although there are nine of our team not mentioned above, we would like you to know that we couldn't do it without them and their devotion to our friendship. Thank you, Eriberto, Trish, Geoffrey, Eric, Sanja, Amber, Chad, Jordan, Caroline, Sado, Tommy, and Phil.

It's in kind of a warehouse district looking area, but this little place clearly was not hidden from the locals who were streaming in. A splendid spread of baked goods awaited, but I was surprised... Read more
