my family and I stayed in this property in January of 2018 which way book through the site home away. The owner agreed to allow us to bring two dogs, we happily paid the $150 cleaning fee and the $60 pet fee. Upon arriving at the home we discovered that the house was very dirty. Our kids were coming and I didn't want them to come to a dirty house so I proceeded to clean. We slept the floor which was full of dog hair, washed all Appliances kitchen floors, filth off of bathroom floor around toilet which was full of mold. It was peeing hair on the toilet seat, dirty laundry in the washing machine. Dishwasher full of dishes and dishes in the sink. Had to clean refrigerator oven microwave so on. I contacted the owner and he said he would let his cleaning lady know so she could improve her skills. I heard nothing else back from him. And then I decided to ask him for part of our cleaning feedback which would only be $100 is all I ask for. He said he would refund it to me, I have all this written in an email, and I also sent him photos. After arriving home I looked for the refund and had not received it I contacted him and he did not respond. So I left a review on HomeAway. His wife proceeded to leave review on us which is out now slander and lies, it said that we requested the full refund of our stay which was not true. I tried to contact him and I've gotten a string of ridiculous emails. So I contacted American Express and they refunded me my $150 cleaning fee which they said I could have asked for more. There was no problem since I showed them the photographs. I found the owner very difficult to deal with. I am grateful that we were not required to put down a deposit otherwise I fear I've never would have seen it return to us. It's a shame because the home was comfortable enough when you have two dogs with you. Furniture is worn towels were not very good quality neither were sheets. needless to say we left the property cleaner than we found it
