“traditional bagels made right”
The Detroit Institute of Bagels is a bagel shop that abides by (most) traditional bagel making standards. This means boiled and baked, which gives the bagel a chewy texture as opposed to most mass-produced pieces of circular bread with a hole. Bagel snobs? Never heard of the term. We also have sandwiches and soup.
Seriously seriously good bagels. New York style. Smaller, crisp, tons of seeds, classic flavors, and scallion cream cheese that slayed any residue of alcohol I might have had in the system. They've also got great coffee from a local roaster. A nice bar spot to enjoy the meal and some outdoor seating!
