Absolute favorite for brunch in Detroit. About 2 years ago Rose's classic diner reopened. They maintain the kitschy aesthetic and offer a seriously creative menu. I got a donut that was more like strawberry jam on cake, and the poached eggs with brown rice. The pancakes were insanely good and the messy breakfast sandwich was cooked in thick-slice bread to perfection. Bottomless coffee in teacups but it doesn't feel pretentious. If there is a wait (somewhat likely) be prepared to stand outside in the cold. And don't park behind other patrons. You'll get embarrassed when they "ring the bell" to move your car. Read more
