“fresh-picked Ida reds”
Aspetuck Valley Apple Barn is most aptly named during summer-early fall, when bushel baskets of fresh-picked Ida reds, Jonagolds, Macouns and Macintosh, to name a few, fill the funky space. Open from April through December, locally grown blueberries, strawberries, tomatoes, plums, peaches, nectarines and other produce are offered, along with jams and preserves, maple syrup, freezer-to-oven fruit pies and ever-popular apple cider donuts. The Apple Barn also sells cheeses and snacks, candles and an array of gifts. Spring through summer, hanging baskets of flowers adorn the barn alongside annuals and perennials for sale.
