“One of the oldest continuously operating wineries”
Nearly a century and a half old, Renault Winery is a recognized New Jersey State Historical site and one of the oldest continuously operating wineries in the United States. Like a fine varietal, the winery has continued to grow, develop and improve with age. Today, Milza, a former newspaper owner and publisher, owns and operates the winery and vineyards with his family. Under his direction, the winery has thrived and become one of the most popular tourist attractions in New Jersey and a favorite of local residents. Renault Winery offers a gourmet restaurant, catering for banquets and weddings and historic winery tours. In 2001, Milza built The Tuscany House, a 50-room hotel with old world décor. The Tuscany House is also home to conference facilities and Joseph’s Restaurant, a European style dining room. October 2004 saw the addition of Vineyard Golf, an 18-hole championship golf course .
I just visited this winery for the second time. Each time I had fun. They have a hotel, golf course, restaurant with bar, reception area for parties or weddings, close to Atlantic city, and of course the wine tasting and tour. The high point it the tour don't miss it. The woman guide is outstanding and brings exciting history of the winery to life. If you watch board walk empire you may be interested to know that Nuckey Thompson has ties to the winery. The tasting is $5. The tour and tasting is $10. Josephs restaurant has good food and is affordable. For a party of 4 our bill came to $40. The wine is very good and you receive a souvenir glass with the tasting.
