“attracting people for thousands of years!”

Located on the Suwannee River. The park's inviting source of cool, clear water has attracted people for thousands of years. Fanning Springs now produces less than 65 million gallons of water daily, making it a second magnitude spring. Historically, Fanning Spring was a first-magnitude springs as recently as the 1990s. Swimming or snorkeling in the spring is a refreshing activity on a hot day. Visitors can enter the park by boat from the Suwannee River or by car from U.S. 19/98. Visitors enjoy the picnic area, playground and sandy volleyball court. A boardwalk overlooks the spring and river. White-tailed deer, gray squirrels, red-shouldered hawks, pileated woodpeckers and barred owls are some of the animals seen in the park. Manatees sometimes visit the spring during the winter months. Five full-service cabins are available for rent. Overnight vehicle parking for primitive campers is not permitted. Primitive camping is available only for those arriving by foot, bicycle or paddling on the Suwannee River Wilderness Trail. The park is open from 8:00 a.m. until sundown, 365 days a year. Visitors wishing to come by boat may enter the park via the Suwannee River. Be careful though, because Fanning Springs' short run may contain manatees and idle speeds are required. Entrance fee from the water is $2.00 per person. Located along the Suwannee River Wilderness Trail with access to the Suwannee River, hiking trails and a second magnitude spring, spacious two-bedroom cabins have central heating and cooling, an electric fireplace, screened porch and kitchenette. Cabins are equipped with linens and kitchen utensils. Each cabin can accommodate up to six people. An ADA accessible cabin is available.  There is a minimum two night stay in cabins on weekends and holidays, either Friday and Saturday night, or Saturday and Sunday nights. A single Friday or Saturday night may be reserved only if the following Saturday or Sunday night is already reserved. $6.00 per vehicle. Limit 2-8 people per vehicle. $4.00 Single Occupant Vehicle. $2.00 Pedestrians, bicyclists, extra passengers, passengers in vehicle with holder of Annual Individual Entrance Pass. When the Entrance Station is closed, an Honor Fee of $2.00 per person is payable at the pay station just beyond the Entrance Station. $2.00 per passenger arriving by boat, paid at Honor box on dock.

Fanning Springs State Park was the place we needed in order to enjoy a lovely afternoon.

The water is crystal clear and you can easily see the fish inside the water.

You should take your bikes with you and tour around the park. The conditions are very good for cycling.

The fee is affordable, only $2.00.

The water here is crystal clear, very clean, and refreshing. This is a perfect place to visit on summer or when you want to have a family outing because they offer lots of activities. The snorkeling is one of my memorable experience here. I suggest that too.

Not crowded. Clean bathrooms. Adjoining playground. Great stop to let the kids out.
