“A NYC favorite spot”
Our original location in all its glory. Opened in late 2005, this hole-in-the-wall resides in the basement of Flushing's Golden Shopping Mall, one of the first food courts that established Flushing as a mecca of authentic Chinese food in New York City. There are about ten seats for this food stall, although this location is a shared space. Xi'an Famous Foods does not serve the typical Chinese food, just as Xi'an is not the typical Chinese city. Situated in the western region of China rich in history, the ancient city of Xi'an is known as the first capital of China, and the resting place of the famous terra cotta soldiers. Having once been the starting point of the Silk Road, Xi'an celebrates its diversity and boasts a unique cuisine that may be best described as a fusion of Middle Eastern and Chinese foods. Here at Xi'an Famous Foods, we look to reintroduce to the world this unique cuisine in its most authentic form, as we believe the food was meant for the world to enjoy, just as it was once enjoyed by Silk Road traders passing through Xi'an. Our most popular dishes include the Liang Pi "Cold Skin" Noodles, Savory Cumin Lamb Burger, Stewed Pork Burger, Lamb Pao Mo Soup, and various types of Wide Hand-Pulled "Biang Biang" Noodles. We stay true to our proprietors' Xi'an roots, and in recent years, we have contributed to the reshaping of Chinese cuisine in the US. Don't settle for imitations! Forget what you think you know about Chinese food, and join the true experience at Xi'an Famous Foods! As seen on Season 4 of Bizarre Foods America!
