The oldest standing structure on Estero Island, the William H. Case House, houses five exhibit explaining the 2,000 year history of the site from the Calusa to Cuban Fishers, to the Case Family and now as a museum. The Mound House also includes the Underground Museum containing the exhibit, Stories Beneath Our Feet, which let you go inside of the 2,000 year old Calusa shell mound.
Several 30 minutes tours lets visitors explore the rich history of the site, and guided eco- tours let visitors explore the neighboring Estero Bay State Aquatic Preserve by kayak.
The Mound House is open Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 9:00am to 4:00pm.
