Since 1908, Lane Southern Orchards has been dedicated to planting, growing and harvesting the best-tasting peaches and pecans in Georgia. And around here, that’s something to be proud of. To keep things friendly, we give each crop the same amount of special attention. The family-owned and operated farm has over 3,000 acres of peach orchards, 3,000 acres of pecan groves and a special patch of strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and kiwi. There has been more than one heated discussion about which tastes better…pecan pie or peach cobbler. It can last for hours but always ends up the same way…with a big slice of pie, a warm bowl of cobbler and several spoons. Just cross your fingers and hope no one mentions homemade peach ice cream. If you are anywhere in the Middle Georgia area, it’s worth a trip to visit our Roadside Market and Peachtree Café just four minutes off I-75 at Exit 142 in Fort Valley. You can even take a farm tour during the season. But, all year long, you can sample some homemade favorites and grab a rocking chair on the front porch and relax. Everything will be just peachy!

If you have every been to an full service orchard this is one of those. The place was great! We stopped in for some peach cobble and had some peach ice cream also. It was fantastic. The peach cobble was hot, fresh and delicious. They have wines, cider, jellies, honey, and the best peaches. They had so much more and at reasonable prices. It was definitely worth the stop and we would go back in a heartbeat. We have an apple orchard in central Illinois but it would be nice to have this peach one in our neck of the woods.

We stopped here to pick up some Georgia staples: pecans and peaches. While there, we decided to eat lunch at the Peachtree. We thought their food was good, and enjoyed our day here. There is a store inside, along w/tours offered in season. There are rockers outside of the restaurant overlooking a field. It's a neat place, and I'd return if in the area.
