“farm fresh!”

Starting as a hobby with the planting of 75 apple trees, Cook's Orchard has been family owned and operated since 1977. Additional trees, including peach and pear trees, were planted each year and by 1985, several hundred trees, of a wide variety of apples, populate the orchard today. Our salesroom opened in 1987, allowing our customers to u-pick apples and Asian pears while the pears last, or choose from a large variety of already picked apples and peaches to purchase and enjoy. At Cook's,we utilize both traditional and new farming practices in our orchard and we offer a large variety of classic and many new varieties of apples, including HONEYCRISP, for sale.Other popular and favorite items sold at Cook's is our local honey, apple butter, cider, jellies, jams, and syrups. In August, we sell peaches and other locally grown vegetables and fruit such as: sweet corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, cantaloupe, watermelon, squash, pumpkins, mini pumpkins, decorative gourds, and Indian corn. We offer tours on our farm and we would be happy to arrange and schedule a tour for your school, church group, seniors club, or day care by calling 260-489-3940. We look forward to your visit to Cook's Orchard.

The word Rude, doesn't do this place justice! This is not a kid friendly place, we were there waiting for another family, our kids (a small group of us) were playing. They were not out-of-control or unruly, just kids keeping busy while waiting...an old lady came out and preceded to yell at us, basically telling us if we had kids we needed to parent (which we were), and if we couldn't do that we shouldn't have had kids. Three times in a row! She could have nicely told the kids not to climb on the hay bales ( of which there was no sign), but she did not. Then as we were leaving my son who is 5 asked me what pitiful means, I said why. That old lady, told us we were pitiful kids, when we were leaving. Usually at pumpkin farms, and apple orchards the hay bales are there for the kids to climb on, if they are not, they need a sign. I am very strict with my kids, I watch them like a hawk, they were not being naughty, they know if they are they are in huge trouble.
