“Handmade Franklin ice cream”
Early 1900's ice cream saloon and soda fountain in the heart of historic Old City Philadelphia.
I'm a sucker for the old-school bowtie gimmick. And for good, creative sundaes. The prices, lines, and limited seating (although you can get your sundae to-go in a Chinese takeout box) are downsides, but all-in-all it's still worth a visit.
This is a Philly classic. Not the most affordable ice cream in town, but everyone knows and loves the place. Cash only, with the soda fountain and tiled floor to match. Employees wear "traditional ice cream garb" (or what I'd imagine qualifies as that). The root beer float for $7.50 was something special.
