“the most awesome public playground around”
Features include a Grand pavilion, large performing amphitheater, large fully stocked pond, veteran's memorial, Frisco’s largest playground system, 'Hope Park,' nature garden, spray park, picnic tables & benches, BBQ grills, restroom facility and walking trails. 'Picnic Alley' located within the two playgrounds and the pavilions located around the spray park are not available for rent. These areas will remain open to give everyone enjoying these areas with their children an opportunity for shade.
Excellent Frisco Veterans Memorial - The Frisco Veterans Memorial in the Frisco Commons Park is a place worth visiting. It is located just beyond the large, center pavilion. The Memorial includes the original 1948 Veterans Memorial urn, a veterans Walk of Honor, the Wall of Honor, a Battlefield Cross, the Gold Star Family Memorial Monument, WWII Flyboy statue and information plaques on wars and conflicts since Frisco was founded in 1902. An audio guide is now available discussing the Memorial's history, the meaning of the various elements at the Memorial, veteran comments, facts and interesting stories. You will most likely leave the Memorial knowing it is a living tribute to veterans, and not simply a part of a nice park in Frisco.
